Don't mess with the Navy! Go Navy! I am glad they killed the pirates and rescued the captain. We should take over Somalia since they have NO government and show them we mean business. I don't like the idea of killing, but the pirates need to learn NOT TO MESS WITH THE UNITED STATES we will come after you!

I am cooking some blackeyed peas. Yum. My daughter has to work today and that ex of hers keeps emailing her. I wish he would leave her alone. She's already threatned to have him deported. He was a nice boy at first, but then he changed. He started disrespecting not only her, but me, and she doesn't have the patience to deal with people like him.

I am also crocheting something for one of her coworkers who had a baby girl. I love to crochet since my grandmother taught me many years ago. Maybe I will have J take a picture and post it here for me since I am not web savvy and half to get her to help me post here sometimes ;)

Meet Penguin!






Penquin, originally named by one of our teenaged volunteers, was rescued from animal control after being brought there with a traumatic injury. It was suspected that Penquin had been hit by a car. When we got him, he could barely stand and certainly could hardly walk. His front foot was crippled and turned way under and his back leg looked as though it was barely in the socket. it seemed to protrude outward when he did try to stand.

At first when he tried to stand he was very wobbly and would fall over. After being checked out by our vets, we were told he needed at least 6 weeks of cage rest. We began giving him cosequin which is an anti-inflammatory and gave him his much needed cage rest.






Not much progress was made with his mobility as the weeks passed. But one day something changed!

This is a great day--especially for us seniors on SSD. Money day!! Now I can pay my bills and go shopping. I'll shop tomorrow as I depend on my daughter, art4thehomeless, to help me as I am mobility limited. But I'm going shopping tomorrow and Saturday!!! Today it is presently 27 degrees here and Saturday the high is supposed to be 70. That's ATL weather for you. It's as confused as everything else is here. One lady was in the hospital for one entire month; she lives alone, and her water bill for that month was over $6,000. The city is trying to get money any way they can. I personally think some of the money is going into certain politicians' pockets.

This is Atlanta and snow is not welcome here, though it's here regardless. I want the warm weather back! My daughter took a couple of photographs then had to work today. She brought home some vegetable pizza along with two slices of cheese. I had the cheese, and she split the veggie with our neighbor, Hugh, who is homeless kinda. He stays with this guy named Henry who is old and sick, yet wants a girlfriend. Hugh kinda takes care of the guy. Hugh also helps us out. He will come down and help us clean and in return we try to help him with coffee or food.

I can't sleep right now so I am making some coffee. It's almost 4 am.
